Children at Wilmington Bilingual Preschool play and learn in Spanish all day. Play time, circle time, eating and work time all happen in the language. Immersion works because children hear and use Spanish in real moments, not just lessons. Early childhood is when the brain picks up a second language most easily, so the everyday talk in the room does the teaching.
Walk into a classroom and you hear Spanish from the moment you step in. Children sing at circle, build at tables, eat lunch and rest, all with teachers speaking the language. Spanish stays constant through the day. That steadiness is what builds understanding.
Walk into a classroom and you hear Spanish — during circle time, play, eating and work time. Every activity is conducted in Spanish, because immersion is the most effective way to reach fluency. The center runs a 100% Spanish Immersion Preschool and private kindergarten, with two locations in Wilmington.
What a day looks like
Mornings start at 9 a. m. with drop-off, a cubby, a hello to the teacher and a look at what is on the table. Children settle into the room at their own pace. The half day runs to 1 p. m., and pickups happen at 1 p. m. Children find a friend or a favourite activity and the day begins.
The middle of the day holds circle time, play, small-group work, lunch and rest. Children move between the rug, the tables and the play areas. Teachers talk with them in Spanish through all of it. Outdoor time and quiet time give the day its rhythm.
Afternoon brings more play and a last story before pickup. Full day families come any time between 8 a. m. and 5:30 p. m., except during nap. Children leave with something to tell you, often a new word. They will show you at home.
How we work with families
Teachers tell you what your child did that day, who they played with and what they tried. Ask anything at pickup or by message; the director shares songs, book ideas and photos of classroom learning. Families hear how their child is doing in both languages.
New children usually start with shorter days and build up. You and the teacher decide what the first week looks like. Tell the teacher what helps your child settle at home, and they will use it here. Staff are background checked and fingerprinted.

Get in touch
Call (910) 679-0440 or email info@wilmingtonbilingualpreschool.com and tell us your child's age and the days you need. From there we can point you to the program and schedule that fit your family.

Tour the room
Come see the classroom your child would join and meet the teachers who run it. You will get a feel for the space, the routine and the people your child would spend the day with.

Enroll and settle in
Once enrollment is complete, we plan a first week that suits your child's routine. You and your child's teachers agree on the pace, so the start of school feels steady rather than rushed.

Pack a water bottle and a healthy lunch every day. A spare set of clothes and a comfort item help a first day go smoothly, so label everything with your child's name.
Do you offer part-time or flexible schedules?
Schedules depend on your child's age group and what is open at the time, so ask us what is available. We accept applications year round based on availability.
What if there is no place right now?
Tell us your child's age and we can let you know when a place opens for that group. Ask us to keep your details on file.
